Love, Obedience and Passion. By Gary Stewart

Brief Sermon Overview:

This message examines the life of Jesus from His passion backward. We begin with his prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane and travel back to see what lead him to say to his Father “Not my will but yours be done.” The obedience of Christ was not rooted in a dispassionate, calculated mindset but was filled with emotion and trauma. The second part of the message examines what makes a follower of Christ take their own journey from love to obedience to passion. Seeing the glory of Christ inspires us to follow more closely in his footsteps.

The Four Verbs of the Easter Story. By Gary Stewart

Brief Sermon Overview:

The message on this Easter Sunday looks at the four verbs found in the account of the resurrection story in Matthew’s gospel. Then a transition is made to how these same four verbs are given to the church and we conclude by seeing how they are also found in the celebration of communion. Verbs imply action and action is found in the resurrection, the mission of the church and in the communion service.
